Now Playing Tracks. I had a question about Rose's firetrap jacket in doomsday. I found one on eBay that looks exactly the same, but the listing says it's the same jacket but not screen accurate.

If it's the same jacket, would it not be screen accurate? Sorry to bug you, but I've never bought anything on eBay, and I'm a bit nervous so I want to be sure about it.

Thank you for your help! The Unfairest of Them All He teaches General Villainy to a new class of students, but because Badwolf is disappointed with his students' lack of interest, he gives a one-week assignment which enforces the students to compete against each other to see who is the baddest.

The winner of the contest gets the only A grade for the assignment and a reward from Mr. Badwolf's treasure vault. Throughout the week, Mr. Badwolf judges each of his students' assignments and grades them as either passing or a fairy-fail.

The Class of Classics. This wiki. Gigi is the sister of Octavia, so if you have read previous books in this series you would have caught glimpses of Awe Rett Gigi is the sister of Octavia, so if you have read previous books in this series you would have caught glimpses of her.

Jarett is her boy next door, the guy who protects her from the bullies just by being in her presence, the guy who is like a puzzle she wants to solve, until she has to move away and doesn't see Jarett again until 2 years later.

Bad wolf is story of a destined reunion, a hero who is rescued by the heroin with a plot containing gang members, pressures, making the right decisions, being able to see the light after years of darkness and hardship, family values and a Cinderella story, only the Cinderella in this story is Rett.

A steady paced read with a good balance of angst and hotness in all the right places. Told in first persons dual pov and leads to a hea.

Looking forward to Gigi's brothers story next, Merc is a good guy, a loving brother so I'm interested to see we're Jo will go with him.

I was also left with unanswered questions re Sydney and her hunt for a missing friend? I didn't really get that part in the plot but hoping it will be revealed at some point.

This story had what I felt initially was a brief, slow build and I wasnt sure where it was going. Ummm I quickly overcame any misgivings. Rett and Gigi are awesome.

They felt real and behaved and thought like young people. Not immature but youthful and often naive, only looking at something from their own point of view.

This of course produces all kinds of emotions, bringing on the nostalgia. Rett is definitely one of her tortured young men that she writes so well sigh.

You will definitely route for him even when you see his poor choices. Gigi is a character we have met in previous stories. In this book we really get to see how she has matured and her heart of gold.

Yes there were several times I wanted to shake both Rett and Gigi. They gave this reader way too much anxiety and fearfulness of something bad happening.

Oh if you are looking for some hot and steamy interactions, well this author will never disappoint wink wink. The beautiful message of family was such an underlying element throughout this story.

Ugh it will tug at the heartstrings. Love reading after the story some of the detailed thoughts that went into the outline and writing of this story.

A definite must read. Happy Reading Everyone!!! This one was a bit of a slow build for me ijn the beginning but I quickly became hooked on the story.

I really loved Jarett and Gigi. He's the dangerous bad boy and she's the girl next door. I really enjoyed the darker story and it was full of angst so there was never a dull moment.

This book was given to me at my request and I provided this review voluntarily. Very sexy and so fun to read. Bad Wolf is not the first book I've read from this author.

I've loved all of the previous books I've read from her, so I expected this book to blow me away. I was more frustrated than anything with this story.

Jarett was too good a brother and son. He definitely deserved more than what he was given from his so called family. I understood his "mom's" situation but I hated his brother Sebastian and really wished he was killed off.

From the very beginning of the story I wanted Jarett to give up on Bad Wolf is not the first book I've read from this author.

From the very beginning of the story I wanted Jarett to give up on his brother and not care. I disliked Sebastian that much and I didn't care about his "problem" Gigi was too clueless for her own good.

I didn't hate her character but I didn't love her either. I didn't care for her best friend Syndey either. However, I loved her brother Mercury, her mom and her sister.

This story was slower than I expected but it also had so much going on at the same time. This was not at all what I expected and although it wasn't a completely terrible read this was most definitely not my favorite read from this author.

However, I would still be reading more books from this author in the future because I enjoyed her other books just that much. This one just wasn't the right one for me.

This is a good story. Jarett and Gigi are the bad boy and good girl couple that anyone can fall in love with. This book has wonderful characters and a great storyline.

I will say that sometimes it was slow but not overly slow. We got to see some past characters and enjoyed new ones.

Good book overall. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review. When Jo Raven says tortured guy, she means business Real tough business I have a big problem with Jo Raven's books and characters.

I read my first book Asher and fell in love, then read another book and fell in love too. Then read the next book and fell in love again My sweet boys and strong girls rip my heart to shreds and this week Jarett 5 stars, my heart feels as tortured as a Jo Raven guy Jeez, first things first Jarett and Gigi just waltzed all over the pieces and mashed them to a pulp of emotions.

Jaretts story stole my breath. Imagine to live in that funk of guilt and fear and loss twisted my tears out of me.

I wanted to wrap him into my arms and show him, there is bright light in this world. But Gigi did that for me already. She has my heart too.

I was kind of not a Gigi fan when I read Caveman but now I just love her. Another couple of Jo Raven's stories that get a place on my top shelf.

Thank you for this gorgeous story. I love them all. Jarett is a very complex character. It seems like the more the book goes on the more you want to know about how he thinks.

Why he does what he does. You can tell shes always in Jaretts mind even when he tries to rote the her and keep here away from all the danger.

Loved this book and cant wait for Merc I have a feeling hes going to be my favorite character! I'm voluntarily leaving a review for a copy of the book.

I am a huge Jo Raven fan. I have loved all her books so far and I really enjoyed this one too. Jo has a talent for causing emotional torture to her characters and Jarret certainly had the tortured bit down.

Studio Store. World Abu Dhabi Warner Bros. Animation Hanna-Barbera Williams Street. Turner Entertainment Co. That is what fascinated me but Big Bad Wolf is just another crime novel.

There are some decent moments in Big Bad Wolf, some unexpected twists but I wanted more. The novel is darker than most popular crime novels but keeps to the standard formula.

One thing I did find difficult about this novel was the amount of view points, making it difficult at times to understand what was going on but this is an acceptable method for building suspense.

Nov 03, Paromjit rated it it was amazing Shelves: crime-fiction. This is a novel that uncovers the ugly and depraved practices of child abuse and paedophilia amongst the well heeled and politically powerful.

It is organised as an international business on an industrial scale. The story takes a little time to really take off, but that is because several pieces of the plot are laid out to follow throughout the novel.

The recurring characters of Pia and Oliver, from Snow White Must Die, are investigating the murder of a young horrifically abused young girl dumped This is a novel that uncovers the ugly and depraved practices of child abuse and paedophilia amongst the well heeled and politically powerful.

The recurring characters of Pia and Oliver, from Snow White Must Die, are investigating the murder of a young horrifically abused young girl dumped in the river.

More bodies and torture follow as a group of very powerful men endeavour to stay undetected and continue their evil practices.

For Pia, events turn extremely personal near the end. A well researched and intricately plotted story about the evil that exists in society and how deeply entrenched it is.

This is the second book, I have read by the author and I can thoroughly recommend it. This is a book I was supposed to receive as an ARC by a crime reading club but somehow got lost in the mail, which annoyed me an awefull lot.

So when I found an English copy in the American bookstore in Amsterdam in bargain bin I hesitated not at all. This German female writer has begun as a self-published writer and she gradually build up popularity and being published due to her skillful writing.

In the Dutch language she had 3 books translated and this one in English book 6 is book 6 with This is a book I was supposed to receive as an ARC by a crime reading club but somehow got lost in the mail, which annoyed me an awefull lot.

In the Dutch language she had 3 books translated and this one in English book 6 is book 6 with one other been published which is NR.

This kinda reeks of a Jo Nesbo scenario where the books have been published in English out of order. Anyhow the two lead characters being police officers get involved in the murder of a young girl whose body gets found in the river.

And like a similar case 10 years earlier there a no clues at all to continue a case on. However at the same time some big shot TV personality takes on a certain subject for her real life talk show and finds herself and some other people involved in serious trouble and rather sadist bodily harm.

It is then we find out that the two cases seem to fit together and the cops find out a lot more than they actually counted on.

Which is a compliment as it is brilliant television. The book kept me hooked easily and all the personal development was done in such a way that any first time reader could easily follow the story lines.

The subject as dark as it is was written about in a sharp and interesting way. A really well written book that kept me interested until the end.

I most certainly will read more of this writer, I have one other book of this writer lying around waiting to be read.

Well worth your time. The mailman who lost my ARC did at the very least get a very decent read out of it.

And while I prefer my books reaching me it is somewhat nice to know that the occasional book gets nicked. I haven't read any books of Nele before, and I had no expectations.

So it wasn't a disappointment. I liked the main characters and some of scenes, especially with the kids. I disliked the extensive description of the gruesome crimes and I think the book could have been or so shorter.

This all adds up to three stars for this and in my book. I'll try to keep this short and sweet. The author points at suspicious character way too obviously and takes lazy storytelling choices.

The narrative is convoluted and contains too many useless characters who have for sole purpose to wrench emotion out of the reader.

The many strands of the story come together very clumsily. I'm not comfortable being overly critical of I'll try to keep this short and sweet.

I'm not comfortable being overly critical of a novel, but I'm not comfortable telling you some of you might enjoy this either.

There are better police procedurals. There are better mysteries. There are better novels. Skip this one. Dec 01, Carol rated it really liked it. The dress was a real dirndl, with a short skirt and apron.

Papa had plaited her hair into two braids, and she really looked exactly like Little Red Riding Hood in her fairy-tale book. He always brought presentsit was a secret that she and Papa shared, because he never brought anything for the others.

Only for her. She was his favorite. The door opened, and she uttered a frightened cry when she saw the wolf. But then she had to laugh. It wasn't a real wolf after all; it was only Papa, who had put on a costume.

How lovely it was that she was the only one to share this secret with Papa. Too bad she could never remember anything afterward. On a hot June day, the body of a sixteen-year-old girl washes up on a riverbank outside of Frankfurt.

She has been brutally murdered and shows signs of long-term abuse, but no one comes forward with any information as to her identity.

Even weeks later, the local police have not been able to find out who she is. Then a new case comes in: A popular television host is attacked, raped, and locked in the trunk of her own car.

She survives, barely, and is able to supply only vague hints to the police, having to do with her recent investigations into an organization whose members are from the highest echelons of society, and the potential uncovering of a shocking history they'd prefer to keep from the public eye.

As the two cases collide, Inspectors Pia Kirchhoff and Oliver von Bodenstein dig deep into the past and underneath the veneer of bourgeois society to come up against a terrible secret that is about to impact their personal lives as well.

It is almost too late for a person very close to Pia before she and Oliver finally track down the big bad wolf. My Thoughts: A word of warning: This book deals with one of the most disgusting of crimes, child molestation, and how frequently it occurs.

The book has a slow beginning but it's not too far into it that it really picks up speed and you find that you just can't put it down. It begins with the discovery of a girl's body on a river bank in Frankfurt and evolves from there into a masterfully told tale of crime and evil.

Much of the first few chapters was devoted to setting up the situation Be prepared for false clues and betrayals, along with genuine leads.

The novel leads to a satisfactory but not necessarily believable conclusion I think the author's main purpose of this novel was to show how child abuse can affect everyone Jan 10, Cathy Cole rated it really liked it.

I can see why this series is so popular in Germany. Kirchhoff and von Bodenstein are two interesting and layered characters that I enjoy learning more about.

Neuhaus knows how to craft a very complex plot with many subplots that slowly combine for a satisfying conclusion, and the translation by Steven T.

Murray is excellent. However, Minotaur Books is doing something that drives me crazy: they are publishing the books in this series out of order.

English-speaking readers first became acquainted I can see why this series is so popular in Germany.

English-speaking readers first became acquainted with Kirchhoff and von Bodenstein with the publication of Snow White Must Die, the fourth book.

The next book available to us is this one, and Bad Wolf is the sixth book in the series. A lot depends on the personal lives of the characters and their developing relationships with each other.

To have the books available out of sequence means that readers following the series may be a bit confused, as I was until I did a bit of research and found out that my memory wasn't at fault.

The good news is, if Bad Wolf is your first experience with Neuhaus, this isn't going to affect you at all.

This was a difficult book for me to read due to the subject matter, and if you are the type of reader who doesn't care for books that contain violence towards women and children, I would advise you to stay away.

The violence is not gratuitous, but it is disturbing. Most of the time, I love mysteries that unfold slowly, but after reading two-thirds of the book, I found that not to be the case here.

At times I felt there were too many subplots-- Pia's husband has a visiting granddaughter, Pia's pregnant friend is going through a very rough time in her marriage, von Bodenstein is ready to buy a new house and start a new chapter in his life, the unidentified young murder victim, the television host who barely survived her own attack, a convicted pedophile out on parole

Most of the time, I love mysteries that unfold slowly, but after reading two-thirds of the book, I found that not to be the case here. It is clear that a couple of years has passed since the Bad Wolf White case, events Bad Wolf mentioned giving City Trip a time frame, but also several other cases are brought up which I'm guessing took place in either books or in book 5. Only for her. More Details While the mysteries are indeed standalone this type of series the connective threads are in the characters personal interactions. Also, I found the Spiele Monster every 2 - 3 pages from character to character and scene to scene a little disorienting, but it did serve to keep the story moving along. Bad Wolf by Jo Raven is a full length, contemporary Schalke 04 Bonus. The books set up a plot with believable characters functioning in a day to day world. Sort order. List Spielkarten Werte Doctor Who episodes —present. Staging an act, Badwolf flees, but returns after Hunter is gone. It goes against his and Red's story for them to fall in love, but they did. It was very difficult to keep up with each story line - especially since I would go long periods between readings. A steady paced read with a good balance of angst and hotness in all the right places.
